where it all Began …

I looked around and found a little 5 week old filly (appaloosa) for sale. and I wanted her but she was out of my price range.. I tried with all my heart to get Pam to buy her.. but she will not bite!! So I sadly did not take her.. then again when this filly was 3 months old I got the email again that she was for sale.. and still out of my price range.. again I tried to get ANYONE from my yard to buy her and I send out emails left right and centre, begging anyone to buy me this little one!! Then when this girl was 7 months old.

The lady again contacted me and told me about her and now she was in my price range and needless to say 24hrs later SURPRISE was at me. She was not in the best of condition when she arrived and did not know what a halter was and covered in ticks and skinny and shame, so so scared.  Surprise has grown into a pretty little girl and unfortunately she is no longer at TLC stables, but Mercia is loving her and caring for her like a million dollars and given her a handsome baby boy… !!! We miss you “madam rise” and we hope you are happy in your new home!

Then well my King Arthur.. my Fresian stallion (NOW GELDING!!) an awesome horse from heaven!! Pam thank you so much for showing me the add.. Greg and Pam and Mark, thanks for the drive to the other side of the world and going to see him… Greg thanks for buying him for me and Rachel.. you had a horse in a million and I am privilege to have him at my yard.. he is so sweet and kind and gentle and an AWESOME stallion that people can only dream about!! My big FLUFFY BLACK BOY!! I LOVE YOU!!

Yvonne went “horse shopping with Pam” and went to look at “honey” and wow what a horse.. she is one of those horses that have made me eat my words.. when she arrived she was a BRAT to say the least.. she kicked the other horses.. ran away from the handler… kicked us a couple of times.. she was not one of the most liked horses at the yardt.  Yvonne changed her name to Sahara and has started schooling her and she went to her first show and got a clear round in jumping.. she has turned into a lovely horse with a wonderful nature and a kind loving horse… Yvonne you must share your secrets.. that is 2 horses with 2 success stories!!! we hope she is happy at the new yard.

And then came little Quest.. her previous owners couldn’t afford to feed her.. so they just were not.. and the owner of Marcella couldn’t stand back and watch, so she arrived at my yard, skin and bone and preggie too (to a warmblood stallion) and now after another long long story, Quest and the baby now belongs to TLC stables too and is due in December or there about. Quest is a sweet horse with a heart of gold and she is so sweet… she comes when you call her and is so eager to please.  Lucky for me Quest was actually not pregnant, she has turned into a lovely horse who lives the life of a older lady at the yard ( fat and happy!)

When you into this whole, feel sorry for horses, how can you say no to a call from a lady in Western Cape saying a horse needs a home…. (even if it does cost you an arm and a leg ) so Tribal at 6 months old arrived all nervous and scared of anything that moved, but what a pretty looking girl is she… she is a full appaloosa, chestnut leopard with looks to KILL for. She has grown into a rather LARGE lady and although there are times she is still a little nervous, she really has become a sweet little girl and I am looking forward to the partner ship in the years to come.

Tribal is now being schooled and loved by Santi and this partnership is going to to go places, Tribal has learnt the that world is not going to eat her and that she might just have a “mommy” to call her own! And she has given me an amazing foal with Yoki, Candycane is going to be Hannahs next dressage horse.

Finally I got Karen to move her two babies to me, Bugs and Celtic, you are both dream horses and bugs I am so pleased that you are happy again and doing well… and fat and round and “touch wood” no illness to deal with. Karen thank you for all your time at the yard, and I can only hope that you are as happy as your boys are. They are truly special horses and I am going to miss all 3 of you when you finally fulfil your dreams!!!  – BUGS RIP!! You are in my thoughts daily and I know that Karen thinks of you and misses you daily. Keep watching us from your little green spot of heaven up there…!! you will never be forgotten!!
