Where it all began ..

Then my little lands, grew up and realized what girls were all about!!  and without my consent or knowledge he managed to cover both BB and Gypsey… successfully!!! When I did a pregnancy test on BB and found out she was pregnant, I was determined that I would find out her blood lines, and I got on the phone to OP, begged borrow and pleaded with them to release her name.. and after about 2 weeks of begging.. I finally got it!! she was a CELLEHOF baby!!! Wow .. that is a bloodline I could have only dreamed of. Cellehof Talkabout was her name.

Out popped Gypsey’s little one, a tiny pitch black girl!!! YIPPY a girl on the same day Orlando became a father he become a gelding too! It is amazing how things work out!! We decided to call that little one Glitter Bug, as she was so black she was like glitter in the sun  and 2 weeks later BB decided to go pop.. wow her baby was so huge that we mistake her for a full grown horse. Greg pleaded and Begged me for this little girl and so he got her, and named her Firefly! A dark bay filly.

Then sadly I lost BB to what the vets said was Toxic shock, and as all horse crazy people are.. you always got to replace the one you lost and my mom is friendly with a trainer of race horses, and she organised me a baby off the track.. and December 2003 I went to fetch my baby little boy!!!

He is a Harry Hot Spur baby, a liver chestnut with liver spots every where and a wonderful nature to go with it!! Rags had just turned 3 and was really useless on the track.. just like I like them.. slow and easy!!!  after letting his chill and relax for a year, I slowly started to put him into work.. and finally I understand what other riders say when they say “you haven’t ridden a horse until you have ridden a HARRY horse!!” and trust me, you have no idea about it until one day you ride a HARRY HOT SPUR horse they are a different breed all together!!

Then we got the stablers at TLC… Anja acquired her horse TOUCH AND GO, the same time I got a bee in my bonnet to get Rags, and Touchy has also managed to steal the heart of most people at TLC… he is a sweet bay, he is built like a ten-ton Truck, so needless to say he is know as the “staffie” of the yard. Touchy, you are a dear horse with a great nature and your mom is very grateful to have you around. Anja you have been a great help within the yard! Thank you for everything you did and everything you still going to do, and lets hope that  you and touchy excel in your venture together.

Then came along another Sucker for horses, Pam, she was introduced to me via a mutual friend, who took Pam out to see a couple of skinny Thb mares in foal to an appaloosa stallion.. and needless to say.. Pam lives in Edenvale that is around the corner from TLC in Linbro Park…. So she bought her skinny chestnut mare and become another member of TLC!!

Unfortunately Chelsea taught us yet another lesson about nature and how unkind it can be, we lost the little baby she was  a beautiful leopard filly.  Pam then bought Johnny, a timid Fresian gelding .. that is just a sweet heart when he finally trusts you enough to let you near him!! Mark, I am sorry I will NEVER take your wife with me again when I get the bee in my bonnet!!  Johnny is great and sweet and kind and gentle and I am pleased as punch that he landed up in your caring hands!!) I finally traced down the blood line of this special mare, so Surprise news (as her registered name is) this is a new beginning for you.. no longer a plaas pony with no pedigree.. you are now a RACE HORSE!! Pam you have become a dear darling treasured friend and thank you for always being around and lend an ear no matter what… I hope our friendship carries on blossoming!! I miss you so very much!!!

The school grew and I just couldn’t resist getting another horse or 2 Twister and Dream, well what a mission it was to get you too and if everything could go wrong I think it did that weekend when you too arrived at my yard  after a long long long long trip. They were meant to leave on the Friday afternoon but the “truck” never arrived.. then on Saturday the truck arrived and they were loaded and only left the following morning and only 90ks outside of Upington the truck broke down and they eventually got off the truck after being on it for over 24 hours and poor Dream, was only 6 weeks old and got hurt on the truck banged his jaw on the edge of the truck so after chatting to the previous owner, we decided we were going to meet half way – I would drive to Vryheid (400ks) from JHb to fetch my 2 babies So on Monday morning, 16 December 2004,  at 06h00 we left for Vryheid, we even had a map book but still managed we got lost!!!

Twister and Dream have been with us thru think and thin,  well what can I say.. you are a DREAM of a horse.. you have looked after the little ones who ride you.. you have made everyone proud at Interschools and you have proven the Vets wrong, when you hurt your leg and they told me it wouldn’t heal.. and you have become a horse in a million. Thank you my little twister for being such a gem!! Dreamy has been sold on to a lovely family in Lydenberg and although I miss you dearly, I know that you are loved and cared for like no other!!

Then came Nickleback. After all the horses and kids I thought it was time to get myself another little horse.. Nickleback came from a riding school down the road and he was just not a happy camper at that yard. He was miserable and he managed to bite everyone that walked passed his stable. I went to try him out and he has cut his shoulder open about 10days before and he was lame so needless to say, without much more influencing.. Nickle came home.He is a sweet horse that tries his hardest for everyone that rides him and looks after the kiddies really well..  And he is just another AWESOME ex race horse, Kordoba is his registered name, and what a sweet horse he has turned out to be. And then came Caltex again the riding school phoned me and told me about another horse they had that also was not happy in the yard. Caltex found an AWESOME home with Shayne. This horse deserves to be pampered, and I am so glad he is retired and being loved and cared for.
